The CDC Foundation is seeking a Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Content Coordinator to support the Kentucky Rural Health Transformation Program (RHT). The Kentucky RHT is a multi-year, statewide initiative to modernize rural health systems and improve access, quality and sustainability for rural Kentuckians. The program operates across five interdependent initiatives - Rural Community Hubs, PoWER (perinatal health), Rapid Response to Recovery (behavioral health and crisis care), Rooted In Health (integrated/oral health), and Crisis To Care (community trauma care and EMS) - coordinated by a central program office.
This role combines hands-on content production with active participation in the communications strategies and execution plans that guide the program’s work, ensuring clear, consistent and coordinated messaging across a large, multi-vertical portfolio.
Working in close partnership with the Communications Lead, the Coordinator also serves as day-to-day coordination lead for the Engagement and Outreach Coordinator team, ensuring field-facing staff have the materials, messaging direction, and support they need to represent the program effectively in communities across Kentucky.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, public policy, public administration, marketing or a related field
- Proven ability to translate complex programmatic, technical or policy information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting communications in healthcare, public health, nonprofit, or public-sector settings
- Experience with web content management systems or basic page editing
- Familiarity with Kentucky's rural communities or public health landscape
- Coordinate the execution of strategic communication plans, including direct production of materials and coordination with consultants as needed
- Track execution against plans, surfacing gaps, timeline risks and scope changes proactively to keep communication strategy on course
- Co-develop systems, processes, and frameworks that enable the communications team to deliver materials with consistency and speed across a multi-vertical portfolio
- Draft, edit, and format communications materials including program updates, partner newsletters, web copy, and initiative-specific documents in alignment with approved messaging and brand standards
- Support development and maintenance of web content for ruralhealthplan.ky.gov, including page updates and flagging content for Communications Lead review
- Prepare presentation materials, briefing documents and one-pagers for program leadership and initiative teams using approved templates
- Serve as first point of contact and manager for incoming communications requests and tracking from initiative, ensuring requests are complete before routing to the Communications Lead
- Apply KY RHTP messaging, tone and brand standards consistently across all materials, proofreading and formatting work before it enters the review process
- Maintain shared file libraries and content archives in program-approved platforms, ensuring materials are organized, versioned, and accessible
- Manage the editorial calendar and intake tracker, keeping statuses current and flagging items at risk of missing deadlines
