Position OverviewWe seek an energetic, organized, people‑centered National Development Manager to join our External Affairs team, supporting Green Light sites effectively executing donor stewardship plans and maintaining systems and processes for donor engagement.
Key Areas of Responsibility- Train, coach, and advise Green Light sites to build capacity for effective fundraising and donor relations, providing administrative support for tracking donations, grant proposals, reports, and stewardship materials.
- Develop outreach materials, acknowledgment and stewardship templates, and other documents, tools, or templates as requested.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Salesforce fundraising reports, providing technical support to sites.
- Serve as resident expert on Green Light’s fundraising systems and processes, guiding site associates in donor relations activities.
- Provide hands‑on support and capacity to new site executive directors until their first associate is hired and onboarded.
- Provide temporary, time‑bound support to sites experiencing unexpected staff turnover.
- Capture documents and resources related to site support in the External Affairs resource library.
- Collaborate with staff to refine the resource library based on site feedback.
- Co‑lead planning, hiring, onboarding, and management of external interns and fellows, aligning activities across sites.
- Participate in cross‑functional work groups and special projects advancing organizational priorities.
- Support sites in executing successful fundraising events, providing on‑site support and donation processing.
- Provide occasional coverage for other team members as needed.
- Support special projects related to effective fundraising and donor relations.
- Minimum three years of progressive experience.
- Deep commitment to removing barriers to inclusive prosperity.
- Experience coaching individuals or teams.
- Experience executing fundraising plans and writing grant reports and proposals.
- Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and cultural agility.
- Strong project and time‑management skills with ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Orientation toward data and efficient systems, with ability to communicate value to others.
- Initiative, ability to manage up and sideways, and growth mindset.
- Willingness to learn and analyze new information quickly.
- Live in reasonable proximity to a Green Light site:
Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Detroit, Kansas City, Greater Newark, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, and Twin Cities.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience operationalizing Salesforce within a development environment.
- Experience working in a national, multi‑site organization with understanding of dynamics between national headquarters and sites.

The salary range is $75,000 – $80,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
