We seek an Outreach Coordinator to join our Offshore Wind Energy team, part of our larger Climate and Energy Program supporting responsible offshore wind development. This 1‑year, grant‑funded position may be extended based on performance and fundraising. The Texas Outreach Coordinator will facilitate base‑building for offshore wind along the Texas Gulf Coast, develop and execute a comprehensive community outreach plan, collaborate with and support the Gulf of Mexico Campaign Manager, cultivate partnerships, and represent NWF in work with partner organizations and at public events.
Principal Duties (major areas of responsibility):
- Support planning and implementing state and regional Offshore Wind Energy campaigns:
- Plan and implement grassroots organizing and community outreach efforts in target communities along the Texas coast individually and with partner organizations, supporting partner and activist engagement
- Track campaign activities by writing timely reports as needed
- Represent NWF in coalition settings and at public meetings and events
- Regional Campaign Manager support:
- Identify and develop opportunities to collaborate with coalition partners
- Facilitate information sharing in state coalition meetings
- Support the production of coalition resources
- Fulfill limited administrative tasks as needed, including list building, note‑taking and maintaining and organizing digital records
Qualifications:
- Passion for addressing climate change in creative and pragmatic ways that allow wildlife and people of all backgrounds to survive and thrive
- At least 1 year of campaign and/or organizing experience, either in a professional or volunteer setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Self‑starter able to work effectively in both a team‑based and independent environment
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage competing priorities - Demonstrated and documented interest and experience in climate or clean energy policy and/or advocacy (this can include a BA/BS in a related field, or equivalent professional or volunteer experience)
Travel Requirements:
Activities focus on communities along the Texas Gulf Coast with potential outreach in nearby communities. Extensive local travel is required.
Location and Work Mode:
Remote position; proximity to the Texas coast preferred due to extensive travel. Must be willing to organize and attend in‑person events.
Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a normal seated or standing position for extended periods; reaching and grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers, e.g., using a keyboard; communication skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal parameters; ability to move about the workspace. Position requires mobility, including moving materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet).

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $55,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience.
