Overview

Better Together employs a Program Support Specialist to oversee the organization’s volunteer pipeline efforts in the Tampa Bay Region, which consists of Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas counties. The Program Support Specialist will strengthen administrative and operational support, primarily to the Family Support Managers, resulting in increasing our impact in the community. The role also strengthens relationships with volunteers, community partners and clients and reports to the Regional Executive Director.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Market Analysis and Research: Gather, analyze, and organize data on community needs; evaluate and provide insights to advance program success; research events and participants that increase impact; research resources for families such as housing and financial groups.
  • Program Operations: Facilitate details for church launches, schedule and run volunteer trainings, assist with launches and events, coordinate outreach and parent support events, help Family Care Coordinators with referrals, support volunteer appreciation receptions, and coordinate internship opportunities.
  • Volunteer Pipeline: Manage the pipeline for all programs, facilitate the volunteer‑to‑family matching process, support engagement and retention through ongoing communication.
  • Data Management: Enter and maintain volunteer data in Salesforce; enter all churches and partnership relationships; create and send reports to churches.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in program management, operations or a related field.
  • Level 2 background check clearance.
Fieldwork Requirements
  • Primarily in the community, with majority time spent engaging directly with families and volunteers.
Transportation
  • A valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and car insurance.
  • Reliable personal vehicle available for daily work‑related travel.
Work Schedule
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, extended hours for events, meetings, training, emergencies or natural disasters.
  • Participation in a monthly on‑call schedule to address community needs outside regular hours.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Maintain regular communication with team members to coordinate efforts and provide timely updates.
  • Ensure accessibility during work hours and on‑call shifts via a reliable phone.

Technological Proficiency
  • Proficiency or quick learning of Salesforce, Zapier, Word Press, Basecamp.
Timing, Location and Compensation
  • Role: The position is open as soon as possible. Applicants must live in Hillsborough, Pasco or Pinellas County. Headquarters are in Naples, Florida; all staff are in Florida.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits including health (99% employer paid), dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan with 50/50 employer match up to 6%.
  • Weekly team meetings with clear accountability; quarterly in‑person team meetings; 90‑day orientation; home office setup including equipment and communication tools.
