Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Grant Accountant for a respected, mission-driven national nonprofit organization. This is a full-time, 100% remote, temp-to-hire opportunity

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Grant Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s finance team by managing post-award grant accounting activities and ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance. This position is responsible for reviewing grant agreements, tracking restricted funds, and maintaining detailed financial records within a highly manual accounting environment. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review grant agreements and award documentation to ensure accurate setup and compliance
• Manage post-award grant budgets, tracking restricted and unrestricted funds
• Perform revenue recognition and reconcile grant-related accounts
• Maintain detailed financial records and documentation in a manual accounting environment
• Support reporting and audits related to grant funding
• Collaborate with finance team members and stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated nonprofit grant accounting experience (post-award focus)

• Strong understanding of grant compliance and revenue recognition
• High attention to detail with comfort working in manual processes
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• Hourly pay range of $27.00–$31.00 per hour- DOE
• Health benefits provided to contractors after 30 days
• Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
• Equipment provided by the client
• Opportunity to convert to a permanent role based on performance
