Department DescriptionThe Philanthropy Department provides financial resources for CBF by motivating donors through development and membership strategies.
Context of the PositionMaintaining strong relationships with donors is essential to advancing CBF's mission. As part of the stewardship and outreach team, the Donor Stewardship Coordinator will support donor engagement through gift acknowledgements, donor recognition, special events, and other in‑person engagement opportunities. Responsibilities include preparing timely acknowledgements, maintaining CRM records, managing donor recognition lists, and assisting with planning and executing engagement strategies and events.
ResponsibilitiesGift Acknowledgement
- Prepare gift acknowledgements for higher‑level donors, staff, leadership, and other special groups.
- Write templates and personalized letters reflecting organizational messaging and donor intent, collaborating with gift officers for accuracy.
- Complete acknowledgements within two business days of gift posting, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Update donor information and correspondence in the database; maintain files and share relevant gift information, reporting requirements, or other details with appropriate staff.
- Support the creation and implementation of stewardship plans for various giving levels and revenue sources, offering creative ideas to strengthen donor relationships.
- Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to plan, execute, and evaluate donor engagement opportunities.
- Provide logistical support for in‑person engagement opportunities, including marketing, registration, and attendee communication to ensure a seamless donor experience.
- Staff all engagement events, handling set‑up, tear‑down, and assigned duties during the event.
- Prepare and maintain the Annual Report donor list and other donor recognition lists as needed.
- Coordinate review to ensure all donors are correctly recognized.
- Meet all deadlines for review and completion.
- Coordinate naming opportunity process, provide guidance to gift officers, and maintain documentation and data.
- Research best practices and innovative stewardship strategies to enhance the donor experience.
- Maintain the philanthropy publications area, ensuring materials are current, organized, and stocked; collaborate on inventory management.
- Assist with special projects and other tasks as assigned.
- At least one year of fundraising or related experience.
- Strong attention to detail, efficiency, and excellent writing skills.
- Experience communicating directly with donors or customers.
- Excellent project management, communication, and collaboration skills; highly organized and adaptable.
- Proficiency with CRM databases, MS Office, and standard office tools.
- Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment.
- Remote work option one day per week; only limited vacation December through mid‑January.
Salary Range: $53,000 - $58,000
