Manager, Philanthropic Giving
Location:
Adele Hall, Kansas City metro area (remote work allowed).
The Manager, Philanthropic Giving will cultivate, secure and steward major gifts ($25,000 and above) in support of the mission of Children's Mercy Hospital. This gift officer role will manage a portfolio of prospective donor and donor relationships on behalf of the hospital.

Health and Safety Requirements:
As part of employment, the seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment for all employees. New employees must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005. You will be asked to supply your immunization records. Exemptions can be discussed with Human Resources.
- Solicitation and stewardship of major or planned giving donors, soliciting gifts of $25,000 or more.
- Stewardship of donors, ensuring appropriate and timely acknowledgement and recognition of all individual gifts with the purpose of helping donors understand and experience the importance and impact of their giving to inspire continued and elevated future giving. Maintaining contact through a variety of means including direct communications, volunteer opportunities, invitations to meetings and special events, and contact with key departments, programs, personnel and leaders within the organization.
- Prospect tracking to ensure appropriate, timely, and adequate reporting of actions and information in the Raiser's Edge NXT donor management system.
- Professional development, maintaining membership in local, regional and/or national philanthropic associations; attending meetings and conferences hosted by these associations, and attending other professional development programs appropriate to major gifts fundraising and specific assigned responsibilities.
- Bachelor's Degree; CFRE is attractive but not required, and 3-5 years' experience in philanthropic fundraising, similar work in the not-for-profit sector, or marketing and sales experience is strongly recommended.
- This position is very visible in the community served by the hospital. Since this persona represents Children's Mercy to key constituencies, it is essential to have someone who presents themselves well verbally and in written forms. Must display intellectual curiosity and professional confidence to navigate a complex organization and garner trust from internal and external constituents.
- The incumbent must be an outgoing self-starter who can work independently and also with a team, requiring minimal supervision and sound judgement. Must be able to think creatively and strategically.
- Prior experience with Raiser's Edge NXT donor software will be helpful.

Starting PayOur pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $31.02/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
