Position: Job: Head of Archive – The Guardian
Location: City Of London

Overview

The Guardian Foundation is an independent charity whose purpose is to promote global press freedom and access to liberal journalism. Our vision is a world where people have access to reliable information, from a diverse range of sources, strengthening their ability to hold power to account. The Foundation owns the Guardian News & Media (GNM) Archive, the repository for the records of the Guardian and Observer newspapers.

We are looking for a Head of Archive (10 month FTC) to oversee the professional management and care of the GNM Archive, and the provision of access to colleagues and other users, during a period of maternity leave. We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a similar role, who enjoys working autonomously, with an interest in and knowledge of modern history and current affairs.

This post is part-time (3 days a week) and is likely to be partially based in our office in London and partially working from home. The salary range is £42, pro rata.

Ideally we would like the successful candidate to join us in early December 2024.
