Our client is seeking an Engagement Officer (21hrs pw) on a temporary 2-3 month contract to support local engagement and community development initiatives. The position combines stakeholder engagement, volunteer coordination and advocacy within a people-focused environment.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Supporting the delivery of local engagement and community development activities.
  • Assisting with the development of the Stroke Group Network in Guernsey.
  • Managing and supporting engagement volunteers.
  • Working closely with healthcare professionals, support groups and local stakeholders.
  • Supporting stroke survivors and carers to share lived experiences and engage with services.
  • Coordinating engagement activities, meetings and local community initiatives.
  • Supporting local campaigning and awareness activities.
  • Collecting and reporting engagement data and community insights.
  • Maintaining strong relationships across local support networks and partner organisations.
  • Supporting compliance, safeguarding and health & safety processes where required.
Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience within community engagement, volunteer management, advocacy or stakeholder-focused roles and demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills. They will be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and comfortable working independently within a home-based environment. Experience working within healthcare, voluntary or community sectors would be advantageous, alongside strong IT skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

The successful individual will be proactive, compassionate and adaptable, with a genuine interest in supporting local communities.
