Sported is a charity that delivers expertise, resources, and vital support to organisations that use sport and physical activity to make a positive impact on young people and on our communities.

Our network of clubs and groups reached almost one million young people across the UK in 2023–24.

Through free support, resources and funding, we help trusted local leaders lower the barriers facing the next generation, building stronger, fairer communities with the help of our team and a pool of volunteer consultants.

We are now looking for a Network Co‑ordinator to join us on a full‑time basis, working 37.5 hours per week, for a fixed‑term contract until December 2029, with possible extension, dependent on funding. Flexible working arrangements, including a four‑day working pattern, may be considered for the right candidate.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate individual with strong administration and programme support experience, as well as a genuine understanding of the voluntary community sports sector to join our purpose‑driven organisation.

You’ll have the chance to play a pivotal role in helping strengthen sport and physical activity opportunities for young people across the Highlands, supporting local groups to make an even greater difference in their communities.

What’s more, this home‑based role offers the freedom to work flexibly while staying closely connected to the communities you support across the North Highlands.

So, if you’re looking for a role where your skills can create meaningful change, read on and apply today!

The Role

As a Network Co‑ordinator, you will help strengthen community sport and physical activity opportunities for young people across the Highlands by supporting local groups, building partnerships and developing sustainable community networks.

You will be the primary point of contact for Sported groups in your region, helping them access support, build capacity and maximise their impact.

Working closely with community organisations, partners and volunteer consultants, you will identify local needs, promote our services, support organisational development, and help groups become more resilient and sustainable.

Additionally, you will:
  • Support groups with fundraising, strategic planning, sustainability and organisational development
  • Host online and face‑to‑face networking events
  • Support the creation of youth forum opportunities
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, engagement and development activities
  • Maintain accurate records, project data, monitoring and evaluation information
About You

To be considered as a Network Co‑ordinator, you will need:

  • Experience in a skilled administration role, with an understanding of the skills required to deliver high‑level admin support
  • Experience of administering or delivering programmes and/or projects to a high standard
  • Experience of working with partner organisations and stakeholders to deliver projects and programmes
  • Experience of working in a people‑facing or group support role
  • Experience of database management
  • Demonstrable experience of being a confident communicator when speaking to groups and stakeholders
  • An understanding of the policies and procedures required to support grant applications
  • An understanding of the voluntary and/or community sports sector
  • An understanding of the needs of groups and organisations offering "sport for good”
