Project Officer; Pray Serve

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Diocese of Exeter’s Pray, Grow, Serve 2035 strategy. You will help coordinate project activity, gather meaningful insights, and provide support to clergy and lay staff funded through the programme. Your responsibilities include managing project plans in Microsoft Planner, processing budgets using Microsoft Excel, collecting data and stories that demonstrate progress, organising meetings, and ensuring clear and effective communication across departments.

It would suit a recent graduate in any discipline who may be looking for a career in charity‑based project management.

The Diocese of Exeter is currently operating a hybrid pattern of office and home‑based working; the normal place of work will be diocesan offices, combined with some home working. There is the expectation of occasional travel throughout the county of Devon, very occasionally on evenings and at weekends.

Salary: £27,000 (1.00 FTE = £27,000)

Hours: Full‑time hours (36.25 hours per week)

Duration: 3 Year Fixed Term Contract

Location: The normal place of work will be the diocesan offices in Exeter with the possibility of some homeworking.

This role is funded through Church Commissioners’ funding available for up to five years in support of the Pray, Grow, Serve 2035 programme. The appointment is therefore offered on a fixed term contract for an initial period of up to three years. Any extension would be subject to the continuation of funding and is not guaranteed.
