Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager, Volunteer Engagement the Consultant is responsible for the maintenance and administration of volunteer service programs including recruitment, screening, orientation, training, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers. The Consultant supports the daily operations for patient/resident and client support and/or service programs. The Consultant assists the Manager, Volunteer Resources in the promotion and development of volunteer services internally and in the community.
This is a regional position overseeing volunteers at Island Health sites in the Nanaimo and Oceanside area. Travel between sites is often required. This is a hybrid position requiring some work from home; a dedicated home office with wifi connection is required. There is no permanent office space on site available, but being present on site frequently is a large part of the role.
QualificationsA level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Administration, Social Sciences, Education, Health Sciences or a related field and three years of recent related experience.

$69,218 (min) to $86,522 (midpoint) to $99,501 (max) per annum (based on 1 FTE). Salary placement is between min and midpoint, based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
