Role Purpose

Gaming/Gambling Related Harms Prevention (GRHP) Community Engagement Worker. The role focuses on delivering prevention and early intervention presentations to raise awareness of gaming and gambling related harms among at‑risk community groups. It aims to reduce health inequalities by improving proactive access to support and treatment services.

Responsibilities

Deliver multiple presentations per week to small groups of up to ten people, targeting communities at increased risk of gambling‑related harm. Prepare and present standing‑up, expert‑led presentations across Dudley Borough and the City of Wolverhampton. Engage with young people and adults in community settings and occasionally attend the Dudley office for induction and training.

Qualifications
  • Personal or professional experience of gaming/gambling related harms, or experience supporting someone with lived/living experience of these harms (lived experience particularly desirable).
  • Enjoy standing up and presenting to groups of people.
  • Be charismatic and engaging in delivering information to groups of young people and adults.
  • Be empathetic and compassionate.
  • Be able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
Benefits

Part‑time: 16–24 hours per week (3–4 days a week).

Flexible working with some evening/weekend work based on community group meetings.

Salary: £26,500 pro rata/FTE (£13.73 per hour) plus mileage/public transport reimbursement subject to agreement.

Contract:

2‑year fixed term with potential for extension.

Location:

Community based across Dudley Borough and the City of Wolverhampton with home working; occasional attendance at Dudley office.
