This is a part‑time (28hrs/week), fixed‑term post to 31
May
2029. Reporting to the Communities Manager and working alongside the Communities team, the Make Your Mark Skills Development Officer will deliver a programme of accredited skills training focused on built, cultural and natural heritage to people facing complex barriers to employment.
- Deliver structured accredited skills training to raise awareness of the importance of heritage and equip participants with the knowledge and tools to celebrate, record and preserve local heritage.
- Work closely with partners Make Your Mark and Access to Industry to support people facing barriers to employment through training, pathways into volunteering and employment opportunities.
- Support heritage volunteer organisers and contribute to sectoral research, knowledge and practice.
- Collaborate with the Communities team to develop and improve training delivery.
- Experience in teaching, training or supported learning, particularly for individuals facing barriers to learning.
- Passion for Scotland’s historic environment and ability to use that passion to support learning and action for local heritage.
- Experience of working with a range of partners.
- Ability to travel to training delivery locations, primarily in Edinburgh, with further locations sought.
The post is based in Stirling, with training delivery primarily in Edinburgh and other locations. A hybrid working policy allows a balance between home/remote working and attendance at the office hub in Stirling.
