About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join the Royal British Legion as a Poppy Appeal Manager for London. This role offers a unique opportunity to coordinate all aspects of the award‑winning Poppy Appeal in your area, working closely with the Regional Poppy Appeal Manager to meet agreed income, expenditure, and contribution targets.
You will manage relationships with local supporters, partners, and volunteers, ensuring they have the resources and support they need to maximise fundraising efforts and make a lasting impact.
As a local representative of the Royal British Legion, you will engage with key stakeholders, build and nurture corporate partnerships, and coordinate the Poppy Appeal launch, including PR and media activities. You will recruit and induct new Poppy Appeal Organisers to help them thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate all aspects of the Poppy Appeal to meet income, expenditure, and contribution targets.
- Manage relationships with local supporters, partners, and volunteers, providing resources and support for fundraising.
- Build and nurture corporate partnerships and represent the Royal British Legion in the local community.
- Recruit, induct, and support new Poppy Appeal Organisers.
- Plan and coordinate the Poppy Appeal launch, including PR and media activities.
- Maintain stakeholders’ updates and play a key part in outreach efforts.
- Ensure a positive experience for all participants, from volunteers to corporate partners.
- Balance workload with a healthy work‑life approach, including occasional evening and weekend work.
- Maintain a full UK driving licence and travel outside the county as required.
- Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
- Experience in fundraising or event planning is desirable.
- Experience in financial management is helpful but not essential.
- Ability to manage budgets and coordinate multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work in person at the Haig House hub at least two days per week, with remote work available when not on site.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel for training or conferences.
- Full UK driving licence.
- 28 days paid holiday (plus bank holidays), increasing with service, with optional purchase of up to 5 working days.
