Help Cats Protection find and welcome passionate volunteers. As a Recruitment Support Volunteer, you’ll promote opportunities, match people to roles, and support strong teams that make a real difference for cats, communities, and the people who love them.
About the roleThe Recruitment Support Volunteer plays a pivotal part in strengthening Cats Protection’s ability to deliver its mission—to improve the lives of cats, people, and communities. Volunteers are the backbone of the charity, driving local initiatives, supporting cat welfare activities, and helping thousands of cats each year find safety, care, and new homes.
Our expectationsThrough identifying opportunities for volunteer involvement, planning recruitment campaigns, and promoting available roles, Recruitment Support Volunteers help attract dedicated, compassionate individuals. Managing the recruitment and matching process ensures volunteers are placed where they can make the greatest impact, increasing retention and supporting volunteer teams.
What are we looking for?We seek friendly, approachable people who enjoy engaging with others and making them feel welcome. Strong organisational and administrative skills, a collaborative attitude, and a passion for animal welfare are essential.
Qualifications & experience- Experience in recruitment, HR, administration, marketing, or volunteer coordination (not essential but helpful).
- Experience with databases, online application systems, or social media is an advantage.
- Good communication skills across phone, email, and in‑person channels.
- Commitment to confidentiality, discretion, and best practice in volunteering.
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and able to spot operational improvement opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for volunteer involvement across local branches and centres.
- Plan and deliver volunteer recruitment campaigns using creative and inclusive approaches.
- Oversee the volunteer application process, reviewing applications and coordinating interviews.
- Match volunteers to suitable roles and support them throughout their engagement.
- Promote a culture of best practice in volunteering, ensuring fairness and inclusivity.
This is a flexible volunteering role, usually involving two to three hours per week. Hours can be shared with another volunteer if needed.
LocationHybrid – you can work remotely or at a local Cats Protection office.
