Purpose of job:
To deliver and develop aspects of Phosphoros Theatre’s Community Engagement programme for refugee young people aged 16-25.

To lead on the strategy, design and delivery of Phosphoros Young Company, our flagship community engagement drama project
To support on the strategy, design and delivery of Phosphoros Rainbow Haven, our project for queer refugees
To support on the strategy, design and delivery of Phosphoros Sisters
To strengthen Phosphoros Theatre's network with refugee youth communities

Essential Requirements

Experience designing, planning and delivering high quality drama projects for young people
Passion for working with refugee young people through the arts
Strong creative background and ability to develop new performance work
Ability to form caring and positive relationships with all young people Phosphoros encounters
Ability to work in contexts where English is not a shared language
Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults at risk
Ability to manage a busy and varied workload and remain responsive to need, combining work onsite with working from home

Desirable Requirements

Experience working with young people from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds
Experience handling complex safeguarding situations
Experience collaborating with facilitators, volunteers and placement students
Awareness of the current social and political context facing refugees and asylum seekers in the UK

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
