We are looking for a Young Women & Girls Senior Advocate – NEST service
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000
Location: Based across Advance’s London Women’s Centres – Hammersmith, Finsbury Park and Stratford with travel across London for community appointments.
Hours: 35 Hours per week, with some working from home
Contract: Fixed term until March 2027 (possibility to extend)

About the role:The NEST service provides trauma informed, community-based support to young women and girls aged 14-25 at risk of entering or becoming entrenched in the Criminal Justice System. The role of the NEST Advocate is to provide dedicated one-to-one support to young women and girls, building trusted relationships and coordinating practical support to build their confidence and help stabilise their lives across areas including education, housing, health, employment and interaction with justice services.
As a YWG Senior Advocate you will be responsible for managing a small caseload of young women and girls, while also supervising two YWG Advocates, providing formal and informal supervision and support. This will include oversight of safeguarding for the girls and young women they work with and supporting the quality control of the service, including regular dip-checks and data input.
About You:To be successful as the YWG Senior Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
- A strong understanding of the challenges facing young women and girls, including the impacts of gang involvement, exploitation, mental health, domestic abuse and contact with the criminal justice system, and of the practical and emotional support needs specific to this group, including education, confidence and relationship-building.
- Knowledge of trauma informed gendered approaches in supporting young women facing multiple forms of disadvantage.
- Current knowledge of legislation, guidance and regulations relating to safeguarding, child protection and Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSE).
- Experience of using motivational interviewing and coaching techniques with young women and girls, using a woman-centred approach to build trust and rapport.
- Experience of risk management, needs assessment, safety and support planning, particularly with young women and girls with complex/multiple needs.
