Advocacy Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an impassioned and effective Advocacy Officer to champion their causes and influence policy changes. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere, focusing on researching, developing, and implementing strategic advocacy campaigns. You will engage with policymakers, stakeholders, and the public to raise awareness and drive support for critical issues. Your role will be essential in amplifying our client's voice and ensuring that the needs of the communities they serve are heard and addressed at all levels.

• Research and analyze relevant policies and legislative issues affecting the organization's mission.
• Develop and execute strategic advocacy plans and campaigns to achieve specific policy goals.
• Engage with government officials, legislators, and their staff to present organizational positions.
• Build and maintain relationships with coalition partners and other advocacy groups.
• Draft policy briefs, position papers, and advocacy materials for various audiences.
• Monitor legislative developments and report on their potential impact.
• Organize and facilitate advocacy-related events and public awareness initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Law, Public Policy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in advocacy, policy analysis, or government relations, preferably within the charitable sector .
• Demonstrated understanding of policy-making processes and legislative systems.
• Excellent research, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proven experience working effectively in a remote environment .
