About the role:

You'll play a key part in our national Prevention Programme, developing and delivering regional and national learning sessions, workshops and resources for multi-agency audiences, leading systems change projects and contributing to the development of local, regional and national strategies in order to improve practice and explore new approaches to preventing and tackling child exploitation and abuse. This is a unique opportunity to influence and learn from both practice on the ground and at strategic levels including statutory and third sector organisations, the government and businesses.

We're looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Prevention Officer with the ability to drive forward systems change work to better prevent and improve response to child exploitation and abuse across Wales, making a real impact in the lives of children and young people.

Experience:

Multi-agency working, for example with Welsh governments, statutory and voluntary sector partners.
Working within and managing effective and innovative projects or services for vulnerable children.
Developing and delivering learning sessions or problem-solving workshops to different audiences.

Skills & knowledge:

Sound understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma, exploitation, trafficking and modern slavery across Wales.
Commitment to diversity, inclusion and anti-racist ways of working.
Strong planning, organisational, communication and partnership skills.

It would also be an advantage if you have any of the following skills and competencies:

Familiarity with local and regional police, local authority and/or health structures.
Experience of multi-agency work at a strategic level
Working within a geographically dispersed team.
Experience of incorporating children and young people's voices to inform systems change work with partners.
