SUMMARY:
The Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization’s fundraising, development, revenue, and related operational activities. This role manages key processes related to sponsor ships, peer-to-peer fundraising, donor communications, e-marketing, revenue tracking, charitable registrations, grant development, and development administration. The specialist maintains accurate fundraising and financial data, coordinates compliance and reporting requirements, and partners with internal teams, external vendors, and community contacts to ensure timely and effective execution of development activities.
The specialist also identifies opportunities to improve systems, processes, and data integrity and plays an important role in advancing organizational fundraising goals and supporting the organization’s broader development and operational priorities.

- In partnership with the development team, develop and deploy A/B testing emails and track results to support continuous improvement of engagement and fundraising communications
- Prepare and distribute development‑related email communications and outreach
- Develop and maintain the organization’s marketing calendar for community outreach and fundraising campaigns
- Maintain regular communication and engagement with the social media contractor and the broader community to support fundraising and development efforts
- Research and evaluate potential grant opportunities and determine which opportunities are appropriate to pursue based on organizational priorities, funding requirements, and available resources
- Lead the development and preparation of grant proposals and applications, coordinating information and contributions from multiple departments and ensuring submissions align with organizational priorities and funding requirements.
- Manage the grant opportunity pipeline, prioritizing upcoming opportunities and deadlines while maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records of submissions, outcomes, and statuses, including opportunities that are not awarded.
