About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and relationship-oriented Community Engagement Officer to join their team in Nelspruit . This role is essential for building and strengthening connections between the organization and the diverse communities it serves. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase community participation in social programs, gather feedback, and foster partnerships. This hybrid position requires regular community outreach in Nelspruit , balanced with remote coordination and administrative responsibilities, ensuring robust program delivery and community integration.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute outreach strategies to engage target communities in social programs.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and events to inform and involve residents.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organizations, and stakeholders.
- Gather community feedback and insights to inform program development and improvement.
- Communicate program information effectively through various channels, including social media and local media.
- Collaborate with program staff to ensure community needs are met and programs are accessible.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or program coordination.
- Proven ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse community groups.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in event planning and management.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid capacity, involving both fieldwork in Nelspruit and remote administrative tasks.
