The Protecting Immigrant Families Coalition (PIF) brings together leading advocates for immigrants, children, education, health, anti-hunger, anti-poverty groups, and community leaders to lay the foundation for a future where everyone has access to the respect and care that they need, regardless of who they are or where they were born. The PIF Coalition was founded in 2017 in response to the Trump administration's racist “public charge" policy.
Today, PIF unites over 800 organizations across different sectors and in more than 40 states. Our coalition works to tear down systemic and cultural barriers, through power building, policy and systems change, coalition building, and narrative change so immigrant families can get the help they need when they need it. We’re building a better, more equitable future for immigrant families so together we can have a stronger, healthier country.
SUMMARY
The Director of Movement Building is a senior leadership role within the Protecting Immigrant Families (PIF) Coalition that reports to the Executive Director. This role will design and oversee a long-term strategic direction for PIF to build power and capacity with and among its member organizations, advancing an approach toward systemic and policy solutions that defend and expand immigrant families’ access to essential public benefits and economic supports.
We see our work as a part of, and in service to, the larger immigrant justice movement and the broader movement to support low-income families. The Director will oversee projects spanning curriculum development and training, community education and outreach, specialty member cohorts, coalition-building with state partners, and new member onboarding and engagement. As a key member of PIF's senior leadership team, this role collaborates with other senior leaders to align strategies, functions, campaigns, and projects across PIF in service of coalition priorities.
