Job Description & How to Apply Below

World Habitat is looking for a Programme Officer to join the small, dedicated and experienced team behind the World Habitat Awards. Each year, the Awards find and celebrate the most innovative housing solutions from around the world. We then help them grow and spread.

NB:
World Habitat are not accepting 'Easy Apply' applications for this role

This role sits at the heart of that work. You'll help steer the Awards from launch to final award, and work with a global network of grassroots groups, housing experts and past winners.

What you'll do:
  • Support outreach to find great housing projects and encourage them to apply
  • Review entries against the Awards criteria and help shortlist the strongest
  • Support in-depth evaluation of shortlisted projects, including visits and input from external experts
  • Coordinate the team's input, set deadlines and keep the process on track
  • Help turn Awards data into insight that shapes World Habitat's wider learning
  • Build collaboration with award winners, including Impact Grants and peer-learning work
  • Grow the World Habitat Awards Network through online and in-person events
  • Be the first point of contact for applicants with questions about the Awards
This role will suit someone who:
  • Thrives on variety and has strong self-management skills
  • Has managed a programme or process from start to finish
  • Builds warm, lasting relationships across cultures and sectors
  • Can explain complex ideas clearly to experts and non-experts alike
  • Brings sharp analytical skills and sound judgement
  • Has an interest in international housing policy and practice, and a desire to learn more

Spanish or French is a plus. Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM is helpful.

This is a hybrid role with flexible remote working and around 15 days of travel a year, in the UK and internationally. We are only hiring applicants with the right to work with the UK. The applicant is expected in the office in Leicester on Mondays (at a minimum)
