Community Engagement Officer; Hybrid

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Community Engagement Officer to join their growing team in Rustenburg, North West . This role operates on a hybrid model, combining essential remote work with regular on-site engagement, allowing for a balanced approach to community outreach and program management. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with various community stakeholders, identifying needs, and facilitating the implementation of impactful social programs.

• Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with community leaders, residents, local businesses, and relevant organizations.
• Identify community needs, challenges, and opportunities, and translate these insights into actionable program recommendations.
• Coordinate the delivery of social programs and services, ensuring they are responsive to community needs and effectively managed.
• Prepare regular reports on engagement activities, program progress, and community feedback for management.
• Represent our client at community forums, public consultations, and networking events.
• Manage program budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources for community initiatives.
• Contribute to the development of communication materials and outreach campaigns to promote program awareness and participation.

• Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in community engagement, social work, or program management.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse community groups.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in facilitating group discussions and workshops, both in-person and online.
• Proficiency in standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and virtual meeting platforms.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Rustenburg area and surrounding regions.
• Understanding of the socio-economic landscape of the North West province is highly desirable.
