At a time when medical research is being reimagined, the right funding can help turn bold ideas into real change. This is your chance to build powerful philanthropic partnerships, unlock vital support and help accelerate the transition to a future where breakthroughs no longer depend on animal suffering.
Who We AreAnimal Free Research UK is the leading charity working to create a world where human diseases are cured faster without animal suffering. By pioneering excellence, inspiring and supporting scientists and influencing change, we are ending the use of animals and improving medical research.
By 2040, we aim to transform medical research and regulation in the UK so that the development of treatments for human diseases can be entirely animal-free and breakthroughs can be achieved faster.
We are now looking for a Philanthropy Manager to join us on a part‑time basis, working 14 hours per week, for a 12 month fixed‑term contract, with the potential to become permanent.
In your cover letter, let us know your initial thoughts on how you might spread your 14 hours across the week, for example over two or four days. We ask for some core availability between 10am and 4pm but are happy to be flexible and discuss this further at interview.
What You’ll GainIn return for your incredible work, you'll find a role where your contribution truly matters, alongside:
- Salary of circa £40,000 per annum FTE (circa £16,000 per annum for 14 hours per week)
- Pension
- 30 days' annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)
- The chance to join a charity that places ethics at the heart of science
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced philanthropy professional with a strong track record of managing trusts, foundations and major donor relationships to join our pioneering organisation.
You'll have the chance to use your expertise to support a bold mission: accelerating progress towards a future where medical breakthroughs can be achieved without animal suffering. By securing and growing philanthropic income, you'll help fund research and influence that could transform how human diseases are studied and treated.
What's more, with part-time hours, remote working and genuine flexibility over how those hours are spread, you'll be able to fit this role around your wider commitments, giving you greater control over your working week.
