Community Engagement Facilitator; Remote

Our client is actively seeking a dynamic and skilled Community Engagement Facilitator for a fully remote contractor position. This role is pivotal in fostering strong connections and facilitating dialogue between our organization and the communities we serve across Paarl, Western Cape and beyond. You will be responsible for designing and implementing creative engagement strategies, gathering community insights, and ensuring that our initiatives are responsive to local needs.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, adept at building rapport virtually, and passionate about community development. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, enabling you to connect with diverse groups and stakeholders without geographical constraints. You will play a key role in amplifying community voices and ensuring our projects are collaboratively developed and implemented, making a significant impact from your own workspace.

• Design and execute virtual community engagement strategies and plans.
• Organize and facilitate online meetings, workshops, focus groups, and webinars.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members, leaders, and local organizations through digital channels.
• Gather feedback and insights from community stakeholders to inform program development and decision-making.
• Develop clear and accessible communication materials for online engagement.
• Manage online community platforms and social media channels to foster engagement.
• Document engagement activities, report on findings, and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate community feedback into project planning and execution.
• Identify opportunities to expand reach and engagement through innovative virtual methods.

• A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Community Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience in community engagement, facilitation, or stakeholder relations, preferably in a remote setting.
• Excellent virtual facilitation and presentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to engage diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in using various online collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and digital engagement platforms.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Experience in content creation for online communication is a plus.
• A proactive and creative approach to community engagement.
• Demonstrated understanding of community development principles.
