Hours for this Position:

Variable, Office hours 8-4pm Monday-Friday plus 7-10 days of call per month, every 3rd-4th weekend. This is not a work remote position.

Compensation:

Commensurate with experience

Looking for an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join our amazing staff at Lone Tree OBGYN & Midwives. This is a full-time position. This full-time position requires the CNM to be on call for a minimum of two 24 hour call shift per week plus 2 office shifts a week and one on-call weekend every third-fourth weekend. Deliveries occur at Skyridge Medical Center.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Partners with women on their health care, focusing particularly on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period, care of the newborn, family planning and gynecologic needs of women throughout the lifespan.

This position includes both inpatient and out-patient services. Patients will be seen in a private practice office. CNM will perform consultation, collaborative management, or referral, as indicated by professional practice guidelines.

Practices in accordance with the Standards for the Practice of Midwifery, as defined by the American College of Nurse-Midwives The Colorado Nurse Practice Act and the policy and procedures of our managing partner OB GYN Affiliates

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education:

    Masters Degree Required
  • Graduate of an approved and accredited program for Nurse Midwifery
  • Advanced Practice Nurse licensed to practice in the state of Colorado
  • Certified Nurse Midwife, RXN, DEA
  • BLS certified within conditional period of employment.
  • NRP
  • Experience:

    Minimum 2 years full scope midwifery experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL and ABILITY:

The Certified Nurse Midwife is competent to provide primary care through all trimesters of pregnancy, intra partum and the post-partum period. Experience in first assist desirable. The Certified Nurse Midwife provides primary health care services from adolescence through menopause including the provision of gynecologic and family planning services, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, health promotion, disease prevention, and individualized wellness education and counseling.

  • Practices under the standard procedure established for the CNM role consistent with Company policy and in accordance with all legal requirements.
  • Conducts age - appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol.
  • Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial. cultural, spiritual and cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy.
  • Consults with supervising physician or other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings.
  • Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department to assure effective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service.
  • Reviews medical record for follow up or ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles as identified by the practice.
  • Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning.
  • Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information.
  • On call requirements.
