Licensed Practical Nurse

MJMG Blue Ridge Internal Medicine in Charlottesville is hiring a Full-time LPN.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN demonstrates professional and clinical knowledge relevant to the designated clinical practice setting, delivering direct patient care while adhering to verified competency levels specific to the site.

The LPN collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, supporting and communicating effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, to provide care, treatment, clinical support, and education to patients and families, while maintaining legal and ethical nursing standards. Responsibilities include workload management, providing excellent customer service, performing testing, medication administration, and implementing nursing interventions and care plans to support holistic patient care.

The LPN acts as a patient advocate in illness and disease prevention. Work may be performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes.

Education:

• Nursing Trade School

Certification:

• LPN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
