Overview
Clinical Nurse Manager - Specialty Surgery - Evenings at Tampa General Hospital. The Specialty Surgery unit (31 beds, private rooms) serves bariatric, benign esophageal, colorectal, and pancreatic hepatic biliary surgical patients. The unit provides nursing care for drains, colostomies/ileostomies, complex wound care, central line care, and foley care. The Gastrointestinal and GI Surgery division was ranked among America’s best in its specialty in the U.S. News & World Report rankings.
Based on our nursing leadership redesign, this new position will join the nursing leadership team. Under the supervision of the senior nurse manager or director, the role provides clinical and administrative support to staff delivering direct/indirect patient care on the unit. The role may deliver nursing care to patients on the assigned unit per established standards, policies, procedures, and professional guidelines.
Responsibilities include assisting with daily clinical operations, quality/safety, patient experience, and financial management of the unit. Involves participation in interviews and hiring decisions as required. Assigns work and participates in evaluating supervised employees. Performs duties in alignment with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
- Provide clinical and administrative support to staff on the assigned unit under supervision of the senior nurse manager or director.
- Deliver nursing care to patients as needed according to established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with daily clinical operations, quality/safety initiatives, patient experience, and financial management of the unit.
- Participate in hiring processes and make hiring decisions as required.
- Assign work and participate in evaluating employees supervised.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
- FL RN license, or multistate RN license, required.
- BSN required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN.
