Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit

Overview

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit-3 East in Virginia Beach, VA. New grads welcome with a sign-on bonus and a structured Nurse Residency Program.

Sign On Bonus up to $15,000 for qualified candidates. NEW GRADS WELCOME: $7,500 Sign On Bonus. The Nurse Residency Program is a 6-month program designed for new graduate RNs with less than one year of experience. It includes practical skills, hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring designed to help transition into the nursing career.

Hours/Shift

Full-time, day shift 7a - 7p.

Responsibilities and Role Details

The unit, 3 East - Intermediate Care, provides a supportive team environment with a unit-based nurse educator, team coordinator, and manager. The unit is involved with Magnet redesignation and includes a 10 to 12-week clinical preceptorship for new grads, along with enrollment in the Transition to Practice Program. Patient population may include sepsis, hemorrhage, stroke, cardiac, trauma, post-op, substance withdrawal, and diabetic keto acidosis.

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing - BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • Students in the process of completing an accredited nursing program
Certification/Licensure
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
