Job Summary: The
D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12‑story hospital with 264 private rooms, a state‑of‑the‑art neurosciences center, and high‑level specialty care for cardiovascular and thoracic patients. The 690,000‑sq‑ft facility features 20 surgical suites and three interventional radiology suites and is adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center. The 9th floor houses a 48‑bed acute and moderate care unit that provides postoperative care for major reconstructive, microvascular, neurosurgical, otolaryngology, oral & maxillofacial, neuro‑orthopedic, and vascular procedures.
Responsibilities: Provide nursing care to adult surgical patients and acute care patients who have undergone procedures such as total laryngectomy, tracheostomy, glossectomy, and head‑and‑neck cancer surgeries. Deliver education, support, and ongoing assessment for patients on the unit and coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes. Float to designated units in times of low census.
Qualifications (Required):
- Current Michigan RN license
- Minimum of one year of RN experience
- Experience with telemetry, tracheostomies, and suctioning (desired)
- BSN preferred (desired)
Schedule: 36 hours per week, nights, 12‑hour shifts. Position may be filled immediately; use of hybrid or remote work mode at departmental discretion.
Compensation: $41.78–$64.81 per hour plus shift differentials (evening, night, weekend) and Charge Nurse differential.
