Sentara RMH Medical Center is now hiring a Registered Nurse for the Joints/Observation unit. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience or interest in postoperative joint surgery care and observation patients.

Location: Harrisonburg, VA

Work Shift: Third (Nights)

• Provide competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, evaluation).
• Adhere to standards of practice and professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, and resource utilization).
• Deliver care in Medical-Surgical/Orthopedic observation settings as assigned.

This 10‑week Transition to Practice (TTP) program focuses on orientation, knowledge support, and skill development for practice in Medical‑Surgical areas. For new graduates, this TTP program is the start of a comprehensive 6‑month residency to support your transition to practice.

Program includes:

• Formal delivery of fundamental nursing concepts and standards with in-person sessions using case studies, simulations, and skills labs
• Exposure to Sentara policies and evidence‑based practice guidelines
• Hands‑on experience with a trained nurse preceptor
• Networking opportunities with peers in a safe, protected environment
• Virtual professional development sessions with mentoring (optional for experienced nurses)

• Associates Degree in Nursing (required) or higher
• Registered Nurse licensure

• Previous acute care experience preferred, but not required
