Monday to Friday. Variable scheduling: five 8‑hour days or four 9‑hour days within operating hours of the facility based on unit need.

Sentara Belle Harbour Ambulatory Surgery Center is hiring a Direct Care RN II for a full‑time, day shift in Suffolk, VA. This role requires experience with circulator roles in an operating room or completion of a Peri Op 101 program.

Operating hours: Monday to Friday from 5:30 am to 6 pm. Variations may occur due to business need or patient care requirement.

No nights, weekends, call, or major holidays.

Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 available for qualified candidates.

The Ambulatory Surgery Center: offers high‑quality care within a collaborative environment that includes registered nurses, surgical techs, sterile services, and support staff, overseen by a highly trained and experienced management team. The center features dedicated admit recovery and a 6‑bed post‑anesthesia care unit (PACU). The center is expanding services and currently has one dedicated OR with expectations of a second OR in the coming months.

The facility provides a range of surgical services, including orthopedic, gynecology, plastics, ENT, urology, general, and podiatry. The center sees 3–8 procedures per day. Staff will be expected to float to Sentara Obici Hospital Surgical Services to support OR staffing on lower case volume days.

Registered Nursing (RN) responsibilities: The RN is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care – teaching and health promotion and evaluation. The standards of practice encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Education:

  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing – BSN or MSN (preferred)

Certification / Licensure:

  • Registered nursing License (required)
  • ACLS required within 1 year of hire
  • PALS required within 1 year of hire
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience:

  • Circulator experience in an OR required
  • Completed Peri Op 101 program preferred
  • 1 year of experience in acute nursing care required
  • Previous operating room experience preferred
  • Manages complex cases in fast‑paced environments
  • Effective communication with patients and providers
