The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high‑quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medicines and treatments, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.
Location: Suffolk, VA
Work Shift: First (Days)
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients upon admission and during ongoing care.
- Design and implement individualized care plans that address each patient’s health needs.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with institutional protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and observe changes in patient conditions, responding promptly with appropriate interventions.
- Document all care and interventions accurately, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post‑discharge care.
- Collaborate with medical team members to address complex health situations and to coordinate patient care.
- Uphold the highest standards of patient safety and evidence‑based practice.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring comfort, dignity, and well‑being throughout the care process.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
- Additional life‑support certifications required by clinical area:
- Critical Care/Intermediate Care Unit – ACLS within 90 days.
- Emergency Care – ACLS & PALS within 90 days.
- Oncology Care – ONS/ONCC or Sentara‑approved Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months.
- Women’s Care – NRP within 6 months.
- Inpatient Pediatrics – PALS within 90 days.
- Strong clinical knowledge and ability to manage routine nursing procedures.
- Demonstrated competence in nursing process and critical thinking model.
