Location: Vandenberg Space Force Base
Duties
* Provides specialized primary, secondary and tertiary clinical nursing intervention services of an advanced nature, requiring critical thinking skills through home, hospital/clinic, office and telephone contact with military personnel and their families IAW program requirements and accepted standards of professional conduct.
* Responsible for risk screening of the installation's expectant parents and parents of birth to three-year-old children, engagement of high risk for maltreatment families in prevention services, case management activities occurring from initial contact/referral through case closure.
* Provides professional nursing advisory services to other health care professionals, installation personnel, and community agencies, advancing initiatives that enhance resiliency and decrease maltreatment in military families who are expectant and/or have birth to three-year-old children.
* Develops and manages the NPSP home based maternal/child maltreatment prevention program for families expecting a child, and/or with children ages birth to three years. Designs, develops, maintains, implements and evaluates the NPSP home-based maternal/child maltreatment prevention program component of FAP.
* Determines appropriate services for atypical, complex, high risk client and family situations. Requirements Conditions of employment

* At a minimum, qualification requirements stipulated by the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for the 0610 occupational series must be met.
* Selective Placement Factors: (a) Must maintain a valid, unrestricted, and current registered nurse license (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) in a state or territory of the United States or the District of Columbia. * (b) A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required IAW DoD guidance. * (c) At least two years of direct experience in child abuse or domestic abuse, maternal child health or community health is required IAW DoD guidance.
* Must possess and maintain current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
* This position has been identified as having "regular contact with children." IAW Public Law 101-647 Section 231, and Public Law 102-190, Section 1094 and DoD Instruction 1402.05, background checks are required. (Cont'd) * (Cont'd) DD Form 2981 Basic Criminal History and Statement of Admission, Installation Records, FBI fingerprint, and Tier 1 with a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check will be completed on any person selected for this position.
(Cont'd) * (Cont'd) Renewal every five years of the Installation Records, FBI Fingerprint and SCHR is required with annual review of DD Form 2981.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Duties of the position require the employee to operate a motor vehicle; a valid driver's license is required.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* Base is located in a high cost of living area. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the SPECIALIZED experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Nursing Series,0610. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT
EDUCATION:
A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
