Ambulatory Surgery Center | Phoenix, Arizona
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
The Role at a Glance- Oversees 7 operating rooms with an average of 50 cases per day
- Direct leadership of approximately 30 OR staff
- Supported by a seasoned Charge Nurse for daily operational execution
- Reports into senior clinical leadership and partners closely with multidisciplinary managers
- Orthopedic total joint procedures (hips, knees, shoulders)
- ENT and additional multi-specialty cases
- AAAHC-accredited total joint program
- Sterile Processing Department oversight
- GI services supported by a separate leadership structure
- Directing daily OR operations, staffing plans, and surgical schedules
- Leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing OR team
- Overseeing SPD workflows, compliance, and sterilization processes
- Monitoring labor productivity, staffing efficiency, and performance data
- Serving as a visible leader on the floor to support staff and resolve issues in real time
- Ensuring regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and sterile technique adherence
- Collaborating with clinical, administrative, and physician leadership
- Demonstrated success managing perioperative or OR services
- Strong understanding of sterile processing and materials management
- Proven people‑leadership experience in a healthcare setting
- BLS certification (required upon hire)
- ACLS certification (within 90 days of hire)
- PALS certification
- Approachable, emotionally intelligent, and relationship‑driven
- Comfortable navigating conflict and complex team dynamics
- Willing to listen first and lead with transparency
- Engaged on the floor rather than managing from behind a desk
- Adaptable leader who balances operational discipline with empathy
- High‑demand ASC with sustained growth and strong physician engagement
- Fully functioning SPD with established systems and resources
- Collaborative leadership model with experienced clinical partners
- Advanced technology and equipment in a modern surgical environment
- Flexible work structure
, including remote work for administrative tasks - Lower insurance costs through a large ASC employee base
- Learn current workflows and assess operations before making changes
- Build trust with staff, surgeons, and leadership partners
- Develop a deep understanding of SPD and OR processes
- Complete onboarding, policy review, and EMR training
- Salary Range: $120,000–$125,000 annually
- Annual Bonus: Up to 5% of base salary
- Sign‑On Bonus: Available for relocation candidates
- Schedule: Full‑time, 5 days per week with flexible start date
