Position: 231816 Anaesthetic Practitioner

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to join our team within the theatre department at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI) as an Anaesthetic Practitioner.

The successful candidate will be involved in the care of patients within a wide range of surgical specialties including gynaecology, orthopaedics and trauma, assisting anaesthetists during the use of local/regional/sedation and general anaesthetic.

This post is 37 hours per week. After an initial training period and completion of the mandatory NES Core Competencies for Anaesthetic Practitioners you will be required to undertake shift work including night shifts, weekends and participation in the on-call rota.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
