Position: Staff Nurse - Ward 7A

Job Overview

You will receive excellent training and opportunities within the specialty you work in. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care, working as a member of the multi‑disciplinary team providing patient‑centred care. Your role will involve assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of nursing care, providing information to patients/carers, nurse‑led falls assessment and identifying risk factors to reduce the risk of further falls.

Nursing staff will be directly involved in complex discharge planning and referrals to other disciplines.

Responsibilities

Provide patient‑centred nursing care, including assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation, nurse‑led falls assessments, risk factor identification, complex discharge planning, and referrals to other disciplines.

Essential Criteria
  • Registered Nurse, current NMC registration
  • Continuing Professional Development
  • Computer skills awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Effective teacher at ward level
  • You must have appropriate UK professional registration
Desirable Criteria
  • Venepuncture training, post‑basic experience in medicine
  • Experience of liaising with multi‑professional teams at all levels; up‑to‑date knowledge of current nursing issues and infection control issues
  • Basic IT skills, including e‑mail and word processing
Other Information

We are recruiting for permanent full or part‑time staff nurses within the medical wards in the Department of Geriatric Medicine. Work on a rotational shift basis, days and nights, in a supportive multi‑disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, healthcare assistants and therapists.

Note:

Under current Home Office Immigration Rules we are currently unable to offer right to work visa sponsorship for Band 2 and 3 roles with a salary of less than £25,000 per annum.
