Staff Nurse - General Surgery B5

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our passionate and dedicated surgical nursing team within Ward 28, a 17‑bed Surgical Palliative Ward based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

You will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality patient‑centred care within a fast‑paced ward environment.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHSGGC can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship where these are met.

• Two posts available
• Permanent post – full‑time hours, days, nights and weekends
• Part‑time post – fixed term for 12 months, 24‑12 hours per week, days, nights and weekends
• Based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital
• Salary for part‑time is pro‑rata

As part of the team, you will assess, deliver and supervise patient care within the ward, implementing and evaluating evidence‑based programmes of care, ensuring high‑quality standards at all times.

You will work effectively both independently and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, coordinating ongoing patient care and contributing to its development.

The role requires a flexible, forward‑thinking approach with an ability to adapt within a changing clinical environment.

You will also have the opportunity to expand your skills across diverse surgical patients, with support for newly qualified nurses and those new to the ward or department.

• Excellent communication, organisation and decision‑making skills, with evidence of ongoing professional development
• Current Registered Nurse with the NMC
• Sound clinical assessment skills and the ability to deliver and evaluate evidence‑based care
