The Role

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking enthusiastic Rotational Staff Nurses to join our dedicated teams and deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care. This rotational opportunity offers invaluable experience across different clinical environments, allowing you to broaden your skills, build confidence and enhance your professional development.

Working within one of the UK’s largest NHS organisations, you will be supported by experienced colleagues, benefit from ongoing learning opportunities and play a vital role in improving outcomes for patients and their families. You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post. All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location and Working Pattern
  • Full‑time, permanent
  • You will be based at The Glasgow Royal Infirmary
  • Work Pattern:
    Rotational between Monday and Sunday
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised programmes of care for patients
  • Deliver safe, effective and evidence‑based nursing care within a multidisciplinary team
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records in line with professional and organisational standards
  • Support patients, families and carers by providing information, reassurance and compassionate care
  • Contribute to the supervision and support of learners and junior members of staff
  • Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and professional development activities
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of clinical equipment, supplies and ward resources
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Ability to deliver high‑quality patient care within a busy clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and use initiative appropriately
  • Understanding of evidence‑based practice and commitment to delivering person‑centred care
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism
