Registered Practical Nurse - Foot Care Nurse

Pay Range
Rate: $26.60 - $32.54 /visit (placement on salary range as per Collective Agreement)
Estimated annual earning potential: $70,000–$120,000. Actual earnings may vary based on availability and service volumes
Grounded in our commitment to Client and Family Centred Care the key foci on the RPN role is to provide and coordinate home health nursing services to diverse group of individuals, families and groups according to the College of Nurses of Ontario Practice Standards, the policies and procedures of VHA, the program where they provide services, and the Standards of Practice in Community Health Nursing.We are seeking a part-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with Advanced Foot Care Certification to work in the Central and Toronto Central regions.
This program delivers specialized foot care services to clients in community clinics, long-term care homes, and home-based settings. Our focus is on supporting individuals who may have difficulty maintaining proper foot care, helping to enhance their overall health, comfort, and mobility. In this role, you will provide comprehensive foot care with an emphasis on prevention, treatment, and ongoing management. You will work closely with clients to maintain healthy feet and prevent complications through regular visits and individualized care.
This is a visiting nurse position, a valid Ontario G2 or G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

Key Areas of Accountability
VHA's Registered Practical Nurses are required to do the following tasks, but not limited to:
Assess, monitor, and make care planning and care coordination.
Evaluate care plan interventions through on-going reassessment and evaluation results.
Ensure the quality of patient care by identifying and acting on factors which affects practice autonomy and delivery of quality care.
Demonstrate professionalism, leadership, judgement, and accountability in interactions with clients and families.
Support safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement.
Inform the nursing supervisor of any client activities, relevant concerns, or changes in the client’s condition or care plan, and submit appropriate documentation to the case coordinator.
Maintain documentation standards according to the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Participate in team meetings, as required during the stated availability.
Required Qualifications:
Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
Membership of your Professional Association preferred (WeRPN).
RPN diploma from a recognized college.
Have a valid Advanced Foot Care Certificate from a public-funded college or university.
Completion of Advanced Foot Care Certification from Ruth Ruttan & Associates or Foot Canada Training or Universal Health Hub are accepted.
Knowledge of the CAFCN – National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada guidelines is preferred.
Worked a minimum of 100 hours as a Foot Care Nurse.
Valid First Aid or CPR Certification.
Knowledge of community nursing is an asset.
Experience in foot care and gerontological nursing is an asset.
Experience with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Word is an asset.
