Community Nursery Nurse - Community Nursing

As a Nursery Nurse, you will support the Health Visitor/Public Health Nurse in delivering high-quality, accessible and family-centred care within the community. You will work in partnership with families, colleagues and a range of health, social care and community agencies to promote positive health outcomes and respond to the individual needs of children and families. Using a community development approach, you will contribute to health improvement initiatives, provide delegated care, and support the delivery of health visiting and public health nursing services across a variety of community settings.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

• This is a permanent post working part-time hours (25); the working pattern has yet to be confirmed, however can be discussed at interview
• This post is based within North East Glasgow. You will work across home, community and primary care settings, including GP practices and clinics, providing support to families within the local community. The service operates Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays, and travel throughout the locality is required as part of the role.
• Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

You will support the Health Visitor/Public Health Nurse by delivering delegated programmes of care and learning for children and families, ensuring care is evidence based and tailored to individual needs. You will promote health and wellbeing, support vulnerable families, maintain accurate clinical records, undertake clinical and environmental risk assessments, contribute to health promotion activities, and assist with the planning and prioritisation of care.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, statutory and voluntary agencies, and community partners to improve health outcomes, participate in clinical audit and service improvement activities, support students and new members of staff, and maintain effective communication with patients, families and colleagues. You will also contribute to safeguarding, child protection, health needs assessments and the delivery of evidence-based public health interventions in line with local and national standards.

• NNEB qualification or HNC in Childcare.
• Relevant experience working with children.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Good IT skills, including word processing, email and internet use.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage your workload effectively.
• Ability to work independently using your own initiative.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable due to the community-based nature of the role.
