The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two experienced Registered Nurses who hold a first-level Adult Nursing degree to join our team as Community Staff Nurses.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are passionate about a career in community nursing and committed to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care. You will work autonomously within a dynamic community environment while contributing as part of the wider Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).

As a Community Staff Nurse, you will work within the Primary Health Care Team and, under the direction and supervision of the District Nurse, assess, plan and deliver agreed programmes of care to individuals within a community setting.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

  • Hours:

    36 hours over 5 days over 7, including weekends and PH’s. Will also include late shifts 7.5/9 hour shifts between 08.00 hrs and 21.30hrs.
Key responsibilities:

You will work as part of the Primary Health Care Team to assess, plan and deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients within the community setting. Working under the direction and supervision of the District Nurse, you will provide person‑centred care, support individuals to maintain health and independence, and contribute to the delivery of community health services.

The role requires effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues, carers and other healthcare professionals. You will be expected to work autonomously, demonstrate sound clinical judgement and maintain accurate clinical records while contributing to service improvement and the ongoing development of community nursing practice.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
  • Part 1 NMC Registration, or 2nd Level Registration with General Nursing Experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Evidence of Revalidation
  • IT skills-word processing/email/internet
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Leadership skills
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
  • Full Driving Licence
