Company Description

We are now recruiting for Clinical Trainers to join our growing team! Our Senior Functional Specialists – Learning (Clinical Trainers) play a key role in the support and competency development of healthcare professionals working within the Health Advisory Assessment Service (HAAS) contract. This role ensures consistent implementation of clinical standards, promotes best practices, and enhances service delivery through tailored training programs.

The Clinical Trainer will work closely with operational and support colleagues to evaluate learning outcomes and contribute to the continuous improvement of the healthcare professionals assessment skills. This is a home based role with some travel in the Midlands and Wales as required.

About HAAS

The Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) arranges and carries out assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Department for Communities (DfC).

The purpose of the assessment is to understand how an illness or disability affects a person’s daily life. After the assessment, the DWP/DfC makes the decision as to whether the individual will receive any benefits.

The Health Assessment Advisory Service is delivered on behalf of the DWP & DfC by Capita.

Job Description What you'll be doing:
  • As part of a team sharing best practice, undertake the facilitation and delivery of approved training interventions to new and existing FSs and wider Clinical Support departments, in a learner focused way based upon identified operational needs.
  • Maintain accountability for training outcomes while managing cohorts, ensuring that learning objectives are met and performance is tracked post-training through data review and analysis.
  • Use appropriate training methods in both group and 1-2-1 environments to give feedback and recommend appropriate guidance documents and resources to support FSs to meet clinical standards, business productivity and performance targets.
  • Keep accurate documentation of handover feedback following training interventions, supervised practice feedback, and of any issues and/or actions that arise during training interventions.
  • Review and interpret training data on LXP to identify trends, inform best practice, and contribute to continuous improvement of training delivery and delegate performance.
  • Demonstrate a resilient approach to managing multiple requests and delegate needs, escalating issues appropriately and maintaining a high standard of service delivery.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of learning methodologies and practices to maximise the learning experience and engagement of delegates.
  • Contribute to a minimum of 10% of closure-related activity, including approval maintenance reports and the business audit commitment, per month.
Qualifications

What we're looking for:

Essential:
  • To be an experienced UK registered Health Professional with a minimum of two years post-registration experience and current and unrestricted professional registration with any of the following bodies: GMC, NMC, HCPC;
  • Approved PIP Functional Specialist status, as awarded by DWP/DFC with no restrictions pending or in process;
  • Experience or knowledge of Learning & Development practices, and of delivering a range of training interventions including face to face, virtual and blended.
  • Act in accordance with your relevant UK Code of Professional Conduct, being accountable for your own practice and professional actions at all times.
  • The ability to work autonomously without direct supervision.
  • Excellent presenting skills with previous experience in presenting to large groups.
  • Demonstrable IT skills.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills including oral and written proficiency to enable the writing of succinct documentation, listening carefully to others and ensuring dialogue is two-way recognising FSs will have a range of experience and tenure.
  • A sound understanding of clinical governance and clinical support.
  • Ability to work within a team environment which is targeted, working to defined performance standards and timelines.
