The role:An exciting opportunity has arisen within Orthopaedics at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Charge Nurse. The successful candidate will join the team to provide a high standard of care to patients within the Orthopaedic Unit.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:Permanent, 36 hours per week
Shift pattern - 12-hour shifts, including:
- Day shifts
- Night shifts
- Weekend working
- Public holiday working
Base location - Queen Elizabeth University Hospital
Key responsibilities:- Deliver a high standard of patient care within the Orthopaedic Unit.
- Care for patients undergoing specialist surgery for fractures, injuries and elective orthopaedic procedures.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care is consistently delivered.
- Support the Senior Charge Nurse in team leadership.
- Contribute to staff development and support the learning needs of the nursing team.
- Utilise excellent organisational and clinical skills to coordinate and manage patient care effectively.
Essential Requirements:
- Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Appropriate post-registration nursing experience at Band 5 level or above.
- Strong organisational and clinical skills.
- Genuine interest in developing nursing leadership skills within Orthopaedics.
- Experience working within an orthopaedic and/or trauma setting.
- Understanding of multidisciplinary team working.
- Experience supporting staff development and leadership activities.
