We are looking for a motivated and caring Ward Assistant to join our dedicated team within the Plastic Surgery and Burns Service. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in supporting patient care by helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and well‑organised ward environment. Working alongside nursing, clinical and support staff, you will contribute to delivering a high standard of service for patients, relatives and visitors.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern- Part‑time, Permanent
- You will be based at The Glasgow Royal Infirmary
- Working Pattern: 5‑hour shifts over 4 days
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part‑time hours.
Key responsibilities- Support the ward team by maintaining a clean, safe and organised environment for patients, visitors and staff
- Coordinate and monitor ward support services including cleaning, catering and minor maintenance requirements
- Assist with patient meal services, ensuring dietary requirements and nutritional needs are supported appropriately
- Welcome, assist and provide information to patients, relatives and visitors within the ward environment
- Support stock control, ordering, receipt and storage of ward supplies and equipment
- Carry out basic administrative duties including answering telephones, taking messages and organising documentation
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote patient comfort, safety and positive patient experiences
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues
- Basic IT and word processing skills with the ability to use electronic systems and maintain accurate records
- Previous experience of working with the public in a customer focused environment
- Experience in healthcare, housekeeping, cleaning or a similar support role is desirable
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively within a busy ward setting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
