This 18-hour nursing post offers an exciting opportunity to work within the Youth Health Service, an early intervention service. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess and plan care for young people experiencing issues relating to sexual health, mental health, risk-taking behaviours, and some aspects of physical health. The role also involves supporting young people with non-clinical issues including housing, financial inclusion, training, and employment, helping them work towards positive outcomes.

• Evening 1:1 consultations as part of service delivery.
• Follow-up and wraparound support activities outside of service delivery times.

All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

• Permanent Contract
• Part-time position (18 hours per week)
• Shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, with a requirement to work 1 evening per week hrs Monday evening for this Post and 2 days per week to meet the requirement of the service. Daytime hours will be discussed and agreed with YHS Manager and Nurse Team Leads
• Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

• Assess and plan care for young people with:
  • Sexual health concerns.
  • Mental health issues.
  • Risk-taking behaviours.
  • Certain physical health needs.
• Provide support relating to:
  • Housing.
  • Financial inclusion.
  • Training and employment opportunities.
• Deliver one-to-one consultations during evening service sessions.
• Provide follow-up and wraparound support outside clinic times.
• Liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies and professionals.
• Use sound clinical judgement to assess and manage risk.
• Apply escalation processes when required.
• Plan, organise, and prioritise workload effectively.
• Communicate effectively with young people, families, and partner organisations.

• First-level nursing qualification.
• Current NMC registration.
• Educated to degree level or possess equivalent experience.
• Experience in making sound clinical judgements.
• Experience managing risk and using escalation processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

• Experience of working with young people.
