Senior Charge Nurse - Plastic Surgery

This is an opportunity for an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to take on the role of Senior Charge Nurse (SCN) within Ward 47, Plastic Surgery, at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The postholder will lead a team of Registered Nurses and Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs), providing clinical leadership and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective patient care across elective and emergency Plastic Surgery services.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Permanent, full-time - 36 Hours per week

- Monday
- Friday ; may require adjusting start and finish times to support service

- Glasgow Royal Infirmary

• Lead and manage a team of Registered Nurses and HCSWs.
• Provide clinical leadership to support the delivery of high-quality, safe and effective patient care.
• Promote learning, development and professional growth within the nursing team.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure effective ward management and service delivery.
• Monitor and maintain compliance with care assurance standards.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and decision-making in a busy clinical environment.

• Registered Nurse qualification with significant post-registration nursing experience.
• Experience with in Plastic Surgery is desirable.
• A post-registration qualification in Plastic Surgery would be advantageous.
• Strong clinical leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think critically and make sound clinical decisions.
• Understanding of care assurance standards and quality improvement principles.
