The Community Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients within the community. Working as part of the District Nursing Team, the post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for individuals with a wide range of health needs, including those with complex and long-term conditions.

The role involves providing skilled nursing interventions, supporting patients to maintain independence, and working collaboratively with families, carers and multidisciplinary teams. The post holder will work autonomously within delegated responsibilities, manage their own workload, contribute to effective caseload management, and support the delivery of a responsive seven-day nursing service.

The Community Staff Nurse will promote health and wellbeing, maintain accurate clinical records, participate in service improvement activities, and provide support and mentorship to colleagues and students. The post holder will work in accordance with NMC standards, NHS policies and evidence-based practice to ensure safe, effective and compassionate care is delivered within patients' homes and community settings.

A driving licence is preferable as a large geographical area is covered.

All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Location based in the South Sector
Permanent Contract
Full-time position (36 hours per week)
Shift pattern for this post is from 08:00-20:00, to include backshift on public holidays and weekends to meet the needs of the service

Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.

Key responsibilities:

The post holder will:

Provide an accessible, appropriate, high-quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to all age groups in the community, by working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies.
Function as an independent autonomous practitioner by virtue of in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience to lead and enable the district nursing team to provide a quality nursing service.
Be a registered nurse who will support the district nurse in delivering care to patients
Be responsible for providing skilled nursing interventions for patients
Manage delegated activity and provide support to other members of the district nursing team

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential

Part 1 NMC Registration
or 2nd Level Registration with General Nursing Experience
Evidence of continuing professional development
Evidence of Revalidation
IT skills-word processing/email/internet
Good communication skills (both verbal and written
Ability to work on own initiative
Leadership skills
Problem-solving skills
Ability to work as part of a team

Full Driving Licence
